What is PROCLAIM 2018?

PROCLAIM 2018 is about inspiring, equipping and encouraging parishes and faith communities to engage in Evangelisation and Renewal. PROCLAIM 2018 will be organised and hosted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane, in partnership with the National Centre for Evangelisation. This important initiative of the Bishops Commission for Evangelisation is expected to engage parishes and faith communities in an ongoing conversation focusing on:

  • leadership and culture change
  • engaging young people
  • belonging
  • parish renewal

During the conference participants can attend keynote presentations, expert panel sessions and discussions facilitated by leaders with ‘on the ground’ experience. Ideally, this will help those participants to contribute to the formulation of some practical strategies to assist their parish or faith community’s own goals in the areas of renewal and evangelisation.

Conference speakers include Cardinal John Dew (Archdiocese of Wellington, New Zealand), Ron Huntley (Divine Renovation – Canada), Ms Lana Turvey-Collins (Plenary Council 2020 Facilitator), Karolina Gunsser (Community Leader - Citipointe Church), Mons Enrique Fiqaredo SJ (Cambodia) and host of PROCLAIM 2018 Archbishop Mark Coleridge (Archdiocese of Brisbane). PROCLAIM 2018 will also be joined by over thirty experienced presenters from across Australia to lead the Facilitated Conversation Sessions

2018 is a significant year, not only as it is the Pope’s ‘Year of Youth’, but also because it is a key time in the lead up to the Plenary Council 2020.

PROCLAIM 2018 will be held in Brisbane at the Edmund Rice Performing Arts Centre (St Laurence’s College) from July 12 to July 14, 2018. PROCLAIM 2018 is open to all.
